How do you experience the world? Can you see a beautiful sunset, your mother, your teacher? Have you ever smelled a flower or hot chocolate on a cold winter day? How do you know when a warning is being given? How do you know to not touch a hot stove? What helps you enjoy a big bowl of ice cream? These are just a few of the things we experience with our 5 senses.
During the first nine weeks of science, contained in Observations of the Environment, we will explore and discuss the how, when, and why's of using our 5 senses to help develop the skills for systematic discovery to understand the science of the physical world around us in greater depth by using scientific inquiry. This will give us a good foundation to build on as kindergarten scientists.
